1. Who we are
Sport.News is a sports news aggregator available at sport.news, operated by BrightPath Agency. Contact for any question regarding personal data: privacy@sport.news.
2. What data we collect
- User account (if you sign up): email address, display name and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture from your Google account.
- Content interactions: likes, bookmarks, shares, articles viewed and comments you write.
- Browsing data: the detected region (to serve relevant news), theme preference (light/dark), hashed IP address (used internally to prevent abuse and duplicate likes).
- Technical data: browser type, device, request timestamps — through standard server logs (Railway, Vercel, Cloudflare).
3. How we use the data
- Authentication and managing your account
- Personalizing the feed based on interactions and preferences
- Preventing abuse, spam, and duplicate actions (multiple likes)
- Improving the service through aggregate analytics
- Operational communication (email verification, password reset)
We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent and we do not sell data to third parties.
4. Third-party providers (sub-processors)
- Supabase (EU-West) — database hosting and authentication
- Vercel (global CDN) — serving the web application
- Railway — API hosting
- Cloudflare — DNS, proxy and image delivery
- Google — OAuth authentication (optional, only if you choose Google Sign-In)
- AWS SES — transactional email delivery (account verification, password reset)
- Anthropic — automated processing for content summaries and categorization (no personal data)
5. Cookies and localStorage
We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication (Supabase Auth) and localStorage to remember local preferences (theme, region, anonymous fingerprint to prevent duplicate likes). We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:
- Access — you can request a copy of your data
- Rectification — you can correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — you can request the deletion of your account and associated data
- Portability — you can request an export in a structured format
- Objection — you can object to certain processing
- Withdrawal of consent — anytime, for processing based on consent
For any of these requests, write to us at privacy@sport.news and we will respond within 30 days at the latest.
7. Data retention
- Account data — kept as long as the account is active
- Interactions — kept as long as the account is active
- Technical logs — at most 90 days
- Account deletion is final; data is deleted within ≤30 days
