The Boston Red Sox tied their franchise-best winning streak of 15 consecutive games, set by the 1946 squad, with a 6-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in Game 1 of a Wednesday doubleheader at Fenway Park. The streak was halted in Game 2, however, as the Red Sox lost 5-1 to split the doubleheader. Interim manager Chad Tracy was at the helm during the historic run.
