2026 World Track Cycling Championship: Great Britain's men out in first round in team sprint while women takes silver

At the 2026 World Track Cycling Championships, Great Britain's men's team sprint squad was eliminated in the first round after Matt Richardson was withdrawn from the competition amid allegations of misconduct. Richardson, 27, had been expected to contend for medals in multiple events including the individual sprint and keirin, and said he would cooperate with a British Cycling investigation. Despite the setback, Great Britain's women's team sprint squad performed strongly, claiming a silver medal.
