2027 NHL Draft ranking: Landon DuPont leads Scott Wheeler’s preseason top 32 list

Scott Wheeler of The New York Times has released his preseason top 32 ranking for the 2027 NHL Draft, with Landon DuPont leading the list. DuPont, a Canadian defenseman and the WHL's first-ever exceptional-status defenseman, will play his draft year at the University of Michigan. The 2027 class, composed predominantly of 2009-born players, also notably features what analysts are calling the strongest Russian draft class in years, following the completion of the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
