Aaron Rai becomes first Englishman to win PGA Championship since 1919
Aaron Rai, a 31-year-old Englishman, won the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, shooting a final-round 65 to finish at 9 under par. He became the first Englishman to win the Wanamaker Trophy since Jim Barnes in 1919. Rai began the final day tied for second and pulled away from a crowded leaderboard that included Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Åberg, and Xander Schauffele.
