Alabama's College Football Playoff ranking creates major Tennessee controversy

Alabama opened fifth in the College Football Playoff rankings despite having two losses, including a defeat to Tennessee, while the Volunteers were ranked 13th. The significant gap between the two teams in the rankings has sparked major controversy, as Tennessee appears to have been undervalued relative to a team they already beat. The disparity has fueled debate about the selection committee's criteria for ranking college football teams.
