Alcaraz's journey back to action at the US Open

Carlos Alcaraz will make his return to competitive tennis at the 2025 US Open after more than four months away from the ATP Tour due to a right wrist injury sustained in Barcelona on 14 April. The Spaniard has not played since defeating Otto Virtanen in the first round of the Barcelona Open, where he was forced to retire before his second-round match. Alcaraz is a two-time US Open champion, having won the title at Flushing Meadows in both 2022 and 2024, and will be defending his title on his comeback.
