Alexander Zverev conquers demons and outlasts Flavio Cobolli to win French Open for first major title
Alexander Zverev claimed his first Grand Slam title at the 2025 French Open on June 7, 2026, defeating first-time major finalist Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(5-7), 6-1 at Roland-Garros. It was Zverev's fourth Grand Slam final appearance, having previously lost finals at the US Open (to Dominic Thiem), along with two other slam final defeats. Zverev entered as the overwhelming favourite following the absences of top competitors including Carlos Alcaraz.
