Alexander Zverev wins the French Open to finally earn a 1st Grand Slam title

Alexander Zverev of Germany won his first Grand Slam title at the French Open on Sunday, June 7, 2026, defeating Italy's Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-1 in a five-set final lasting more than four hours at Roland Garros in Paris. The victory came in Zverev's fourth major final, with top-ranked Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz notably absent from the title match. Zverev joins Andre Agassi, Goran Ivanisevic, and Dominic Thiem as players who captured their first Grand Slam title in their fourth final appearance.
