Alexandra Eala: Rising Filipina star beats Jessica Pegula in DC Open final to claim first WTA Tour title

Alexandra Eala, 21, became the first Filipina player to win a WTA Tour singles title by defeating top seed Jessica Pegula 4-6 6-4 6-0 in the DC Open final. Eala had trailed by a set when the match was suspended due to heavy rain on Sunday, before completing her comeback victory on Monday. She will next compete at the Toronto Open, which runs through to the final on August 13.
