Alexia Putellas leaves Barcelona after 14 years amid link to London City Lionesses

Barcelona have confirmed the departure of captain Alexia Putellas, 32, after 14 years at the club following the expiration of her contract. The two-time Ballon d'Or winner made 507 appearances and scored a record 233 goals for the Catalan club after joining from Levante in 2012. London City Lionesses are among several clubs reported to be interested in signing the Spanish midfielder.
