Allen: 'One day at a time' before snooker return
Snooker player Mark Allen, 40, has spoken publicly about his mental health struggles after revealing he spent 10 weeks in a mental health clinic before playing in the Northern Ireland Open, where he lost to Jordan Brown in the first round. It was his first match since losing a 17-16 final-frame World Championship semifinal to Wu Yize in April. Allen expressed hope of returning for the UK Championship, which starts at the end of November, saying he is taking his recovery 'one day at a time' and wants to raise greater awareness around mental health.
