Alonso doubles down on 'lack of talent' F1 drivers
Fernando Alonso doubled down on his criticism of drivers at the back of the Formula 1 grid during media duties ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix, reiterating comments he made after a collision with Williams driver Alex Albon at the United States Grand Prix. Alonso told Sky Sports he believes there is a 'very low level of driving and lack of talent,' pointing to repeated crashes across the season, and questioned why team principals tolerate such mistakes in the cost cap era. Albon, responding in the press conference, said he hugely respects Alonso but pushed back on the criticism, attributing Williams' struggles this year to the car rather than driver ability.
