Yordan Alvarez hit two home runs in the first inning — a two-run shot and a grand slam — as part of a nine-run frame to lead the Houston Astros to a 10-8 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Friday, June 13, 2026. Alvarez became only the third player in Houston history and the 63rd in major league history to hit two homers in a single inning. He is the first player to accomplish the feat in the first inning since David Ortiz did so on August 12, 2008, and the first Houston player since Jeff Bagwell on June 24, 1994.
