Andrea Stella hints at ‘brand new’ McLaren for F1 Miami GP

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has revealed that the team plans to bring a significantly upgraded, near-entirely new MCL40 to the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. The defending constructors' and drivers' champions have struggled in the first three races of the 2026 season, with Lando Norris finishing fifth in Australia and Oscar Piastri's best result being a podium in Japan. The cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia rounds gave McLaren additional development time, with Stella confirming that major aerodynamic upgrades are planned across the Miami and Canadian Grands Prix.
