Andy Flower rules himself out of replacing McCullum as England Test head coach

Andy Flower has removed himself from consideration to replace Brendon McCullum as England's Test head coach, informing the ECB this week that he is not interested in the role. Flower, who was considered the first-choice candidate, told managing director Rob Key he is unwilling to give up his positions with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL and London Spirit in the Hundred, and does not believe combining those roles with an international coaching job is feasible. With Flower out of the running, Justin Langer is now believed to be at the top of the ECB's list of candidates.
