Antonelli smashes opposition to take Belgian GP pole
Kimi Antonelli claimed pole position for Formula 1's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa with a lap time of 1m44.361s, beating Max Verstappen by 0.317s. Lando Norris had led after the first Q3 runs but will start 13th due to a 10-place grid penalty for taking his fourth battery of the season, elevating George Russell to an effective third on the grid. Verstappen was aided by a tow from teammate Isack Hadjar, who himself faces a 30-place grid penalty for multiple engine component changes.
