Arizona State investigates workout after NHL prospect collapses, is hospitalized

Arizona State University is investigating an outdoor workout session held Thursday morning during which hockey player Matthew Mayich, a defenseman and St. Louis Blues draft pick, collapsed and was hospitalized. As of Tuesday, Mayich remained hospitalized, according to a person close to the family. The university has declined to confirm whether the workout was officially sanctioned, while Tempe Fire Medical Rescue responded to the scene at 400 S. Rural Road.
