Arman Tsarukyan wants ‘at least 5’ lightweight title defenses to break Islam Makhachev’s UFC record

Arman Tsarukyan has stated his intention to make at least five UFC lightweight title defenses if he captures the championship, aiming to surpass Islam Makhachev's existing record as the division's most successful title defender. The two fighters first met in 2019 during Tsarukyan's UFC debut, and Tsarukyan sees breaking Makhachev's defensive record as a way to outshine his rival. Tsarukyan has also confirmed he has no plans to move up or down in weight class if he becomes lightweight champion.
