Arsenal open talks with Bayer Leverkusen over deal for Jarell Quansah

Arsenal have opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a deal for England defender Jarell Quansah, with the Bundesliga club demanding at least €50m for the player. Quansah joined Leverkusen from Liverpool last summer for an initial £30m and featured in Thomas Tuchel's England World Cup squad, where he was sent off in the last-16 win over Mexico. Arsenal are targeting him as cover for injured defenders William Saliba and Jurriën Timber, who are both expected to miss the start of the new season.
