Arsenal stunned in Carabao Cup loss to fourth-tier Fleetwood Town

Premier League champions Arsenal were eliminated from the Carabao Cup on Tuesday after losing a penalty shootout 5-3 to fourth-tier League Two side Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium. Bruno Guimarães had his spot kick saved by goalkeeper Jay Lynch, before teenage defender Conor Haughey scored the decisive penalty, prompting a pitch invasion. It marks the first time in history that reigning Premier League champions have been knocked out of the League Cup by a fourth-tier side, with 84 positions separating the two clubs in the English football pyramid.
