Arsenal's Dowman gets 3-game ban for red card after appeal rejected

Arsenal's 16-year-old player Max Dowman has been handed a three-game ban after the Football Association confirmed on Thursday that an independent regulatory commission rejected Arsenal's appeal against his red card. Dowman was sent off in the 85th minute of Arsenal's Carabao Cup tie against Fleetwood Town on October 27 for kicking out at Harrison Neal, a match Arsenal lost on penalties following a 1-1 draw. The commission dismissed both claims of wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment.
