Ascot to leave Racecourse Association at the end of the year
Ascot Racecourse has confirmed it will leave the Racecourse Association (RCA) at the end of 2026, citing unresolved structural governance concerns. The decision follows a letter signed in early March by Ascot and four other venues — Jockey Club Racecourses, Newbury, York, and Goodwood — calling for a formal governance review and requesting reform proposals by April 30, 2026. Ascot stated that despite extensive discussions, the hoped-for changes to the RCA's member voting structure and board representation were not delivered.
