Asia's most successful male tennis player, Nishikori Kei announces he will retire at season's end
Japanese tennis player Nishikori Kei, 36, announced on April 30 via social media that he will retire from professional tennis at the end of the 2026 season. The former world No. 4 β an Asian male record β is the first Asian man to reach a Grand Slam final and won a bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Nishikori began playing tennis at age five and moved to the United States at 13 to pursue his professional career.
