Aston Villa v Manchester City buildup, Premier League news, WSL, and more – matchday live

Aston Villa host Manchester City in a Premier League matchday fixture, with the buildup recalling their last meeting in May when Villa won 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, with Ollie Watkins scoring twice to complete a league double over City. That victory came just four days after Villa's Europa League triumph in Istanbul, where Youri Tielemans, Morgan Rogers, and Emi Buendía scored. The article notes that Buendía is the only scorer from that Istanbul final still at the club, as manager Unai Emery continues to reshape his squad.
