Astros reportedly trading SP Lance McCullers Jr. to Brewers

The Houston Astros are trading veteran starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. to the Milwaukee Brewers, ending his 12-year tenure with Houston after being drafted by the club in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft. McCullers waived a no-trade clause in his contract to facilitate the move, reported by The Athletic's Chandler Rome ahead of the 2026 MLB trade deadline. The Brewers, who posted the second-best team ERA (3.48) in MLB's first half, are adding McCullers as Brandon Woodruff was moved to the 60-day IL due to a shoulder injury.
