
ASU softball delivers stunner, topping UT in Game 1 of super regional
The Arizona State Sun Devils defeated No. 2 Texas in Game 1 of the Austin Super Regional on Friday, May 22, 2026, moving one win away from the Women's College World Series. ASU pitcher Kenzie Brown threw a complete-game gem, allowing only four hits, walking one, and striking out 10, outdueling Texas ace Teagan Kavan, the reigning Women's College World Series Most Outstanding Player. Texas had entered the super regional having won their previous three games by a combined score of 25-1.
