Athletics: Jakob Ingebrigtsen to make Diamond League return at Weltklasse Zürich 2026 against Cole Hocker and Isaac Nader

Jakob Ingebrigtsen will compete in the 1500 metres at the Diamond League Weltklasse Zürich on 27 August 2026, marking his first Diamond League appearance since winning the 1500m at the 2024 Brussels series final in September of that year. The 25-year-old Norwegian, who had Achilles tendon surgery in February 2026 and has yet to race this season, will face Olympic champion Cole Hocker and world champion Isaac Nader, along with Yared Nuguse and Phanuel Koech, at the sold-out Letzigrund Stadium. Ingebrigtsen is set to open his 2026 season at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, running from 10 to 16 August, before the Zürich showdown.
