Athletics: Jakob Ingebrigtsen to make Diamond League return at Weltklasse Zürich 2026 against Cole Hocker and Isaac Nader

Jakob Ingebrigtsen will compete in the 1500 metres at the Diamond League Weltklasse Zürich on 27 August 2026, marking his first Diamond League race in nearly two years after Achilles tendon surgery in February kept him out of competition throughout 2026. The 25-year-old Norwegian, a double Olympic gold medallist (1500m at Tokyo 2020 and 5000m at Paris 2024), will face Olympic 1500m champion Cole Hocker and world champion Isaac Nader, along with Yared Nuguse and Phanuel Koech, at a sold-out Letzigrund Stadium. Ingebrigtsen is set to open his 2026 season at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, running from 10 to 16 August, ahead of the Zürich appearance.
