Masai Russell broke the women's 100m hurdles world record at the 2026 Zurich Diamond League (Weltklasse Zürich) on August 27, clocking 12.09 — 0.03 seconds faster than Tobi Amusan's previous mark — in no wind conditions. The performance came less than 40 minutes after Alison dos Santos set a men's 400m hurdles world record of 45.80 at the same meet. Both records are subject to World Athletics ratification procedures.
