ATHLETICS: Russian track & field federation blames its continuing suspension on World Athletics President Sebastian Coe
The All-Russian Athletics Federation Executive Director Boris Yaryshevsky has blamed World Athletics President Sebastian Coe personally for Russia's continuing suspension from international track and field competition, stating it is 'his personal position' rather than that of the organization. Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Yaryshevsky revealed the federation has filed two lawsuits at the Court of Arbitration for Sport โ one in July concerning athlete eligibility and one in August regarding the federation's reinstatement. The federation is prioritizing the eligibility case to allow Russian athletes to qualify for the 2028 Olympics and compete at next year's World Indoor Championships.
