ATP unveils 2028 blueprint: $350M for players, ranking overhaul
ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi has published an open letter proposing a sweeping 2028 reform package for the men's tennis tour, including $350 million in annual player compensation outside the Grand Slams, a bonus pool increase from $21.5 million to $50 million, a reweighted ranking system favoring bigger events, and a restructured calendar with dedicated weeks by category. The plan also includes a 10th Masters 1000 event in Saudi Arabia and changes to doubles. The proposals are not yet finalized and will be put forward for consideration at the ATP's year-end meetings in Turin next month.
