AUS prepares for busy stretch as Formula 1 fans travel to Central Texas

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is bracing for a surge in travelers from Thursday through Tuesday as Formula 1 fans descend on Central Texas. The airport's current single-day passenger record stands at just over 45,000, and officials have not yet projected the Monday count. To handle increased demand, AUS recently added 12,000 square feet of queuing space for TSA screening and is simultaneously breaking ground on construction projects to support future growth.
