Austin open to hosting two races to finish Formula 1 season
Formula 1 is considering contingency plans if the Qatar Grand Prix (November 29) and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (December 6) are cancelled due to conflict in Iran, with Imola in Italy currently the preferred alternative to finish the season. F1 boss Stefano Domenicali stated the season would end in Europe rather than the U.S., though Circuit of the Americas (COTA) chief Bobby Epstein acknowledged the possibility, noting F1 had not officially contacted him. COTA is already scheduled to host the U.S. Grand Prix on October 25, and Epstein expressed reservations about hosting a second race so close to that event.
