Australian Hussey open Ashes Test role as England make approach

Former Australian batter Mike Hussey has revealed he is open to joining England as their Test batting coach, having received an informal approach from England's new red-ball coach Stephen Fleming. The two have a long-standing relationship, having spent 15 years together as teammates and coaches at IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, where Hussey also served as batting coach during the 2026 season. England host Australia in the Ashes across June, July and August next year, aiming to win back the urn for the first time since 2015.
