Austrian Grand Prix is declared F1 heat-hazard race amid European heatwave
Formula One's governing body has declared a heat hazard for the Austrian Grand Prix at Spielberg's Red Bull Ring, marking the first time this designation has been used in the 2025 season. Race director Rui Marques cited official weather forecasts predicting temperatures exceeding 31°C during the race. As a result, teams are required to fit a driver cooling system such as a liquid-cooled vest, though drivers may opt out by accepting a ballast penalty instead.
