Avalanche sign Schwartz for forward depth; add Svechkov, L'Heureux

The Colorado Avalanche made several offseason moves to bolster their forward depth after finishing 55-16-11 and reaching the Western Conference Final in 2025-26. Veteran forward Jaden Schwartz, 34, signed a three-year deal on July 2 after five seasons with Seattle, while 23-year-old Fedor Svechkov was acquired via trade from Nashville on June 24 along with 23-year-old Zachary L'Heureux. Svechkov posted a career-high 17 points in 70 games last season, and L'Heureux contributed 28 AHL points with Milwaukee in 2025-26.
