Ayao Komatsu: Haas exists purely to race, we are not in Formula 1 to sell drinks or road cars

Haas F1 Team Principal Ayao Komatsu revealed on the Inside the ICE House podcast at the New York Stock Exchange that the Haas-Toyota alliance is founded on shared values rather than commercial interests. Komatsu described a pivotal personal meeting with Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda in Tokyo in 2024, during which the two men discussed personal passions without once addressing contract details. Komatsu emphasised that Haas participates in Formula 1 purely for racing, not to market consumer products or road cars.
