Battling Gloucester hold champions Bordeaux to kick off Champions Cup in style

Gloucester and defending Champions Cup champions Bordeaux Bègles played out a thrilling 36-36 draw in their European Champions Cup opener. Bordeaux, chasing a third consecutive title, were disrupted before kickoff when four players including star winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey were held up for four hours at UK Border Control due to missing electronic travel authorisations. Bielle-Biarrey scored two tries despite the disruption, but Gloucester's determined display, aided by Will Trenholm off the bench, was enough to secure a share of the spoils.
