‘Be adults’: Joe Root gets rid of England Test team’s midnight curfew
Joe Root, returning as England Test captain for the three-match series against Pakistan, has abolished the midnight curfew that was imposed on the England men's team following their Ashes defeat last winter. Root stated he does not believe curfews work and urged his players to 'be adults.' The curfew had originally been introduced after a series of off-field incidents, most notably Harry Brook's altercation with a nightclub bouncer in Wellington on the eve of a one-day international, which nearly cost Brook his white-ball captaincy.
