Beau Hossler holds a one-shot lead after the first round of the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C., posting a strong round at Sedgefield Country Club that included four consecutive birdies and a 30-foot eagle. Rookie Ben James, a Virginia graduate and top PGA Tour University-ranked player, carded an 8-under 62 but was held out of a share of the lead by a bogey-birdie-bogey finish on his final three holes. Both Hossler, ranked No. 122 in the FedEx Cup, and James must win the event to advance to the top 70 and qualify for the postseason.
