Berube fired as Maple Leafs coach, replacement not named
Craig Berube, 60, was fired as head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday after two seasons, posting an 84-62-18 record having replaced Sheldon Keefe in May 2024. General manager John Chayka, hired on May 3, cited the need for an 'organizational shift' as the reason for the change, stressing it was not a reflection of Berube's coaching ability. The Maple Leafs ranked 31st in the NHL this season with 3.60 goals allowed per game, and no replacement coach has been named.
