Blue Jackets acquire Nichushkin to provide scoring depth

The Columbus Blue Jackets acquired forward Valeri Nichushkin from the Colorado Avalanche on June 25 in exchange for draft picks in 2026, 2027, and 2028. Nichushkin, 31, recorded 49 points in 72 regular-season games last season and is a Stanley Cup champion with Colorado from 2022. The Blue Jackets also added free agents Ryan Lomberg on a two-year deal and goalie Pheonix Copley on a one-year contract, both signed July 1.
