Blues trade for McTavish, McMichael in hopes of boosting scoring

The St. Louis Blues made several major offseason moves to boost their scoring after finishing fifth in the Central Division and missing the 2025-26 playoffs. They acquired forward Mason McTavish from the Anaheim Ducks on June 27 for two draft picks and a defenseman, and traded Jordan Kyrou to Washington on June 23 for Connor McMichael, who subsequently signed a six-year contract extension on July 16. The Blues also added defenseman Brandon Carlo from the Toronto Maple Leafs on June 27 for two third-round picks to bolster their blue line.
