Bob Pettit dies at 93

Bob Pettit, the St. Louis Hawks legend and first-ever NBA MVP winner in 1956, died at the age of 93 on Wednesday, with his passing announced by his alma mater LSU on Thursday. A two-time NBA MVP and 11-time All-Star, Pettit was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1971 and became the NBA's first 20,000-point scorer. He is perhaps best remembered for his iconic 50-point performance in Game 6 of the 1958 NBA Finals, which clinched the championship for the St. Louis Hawks.
