Boehly and Walter sell Chelsea shares as Clearlake Capital takes full control of club

Todd Boehly and Mark Walter have sold their stakes in Chelsea FC to Clearlake Capital, giving the private equity firm full control of the Premier League club. Clearlake previously held 61.5% of Chelsea, with Boehly, Walter, and Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss owning the remaining shares. The trio had originally partnered with Clearlake to purchase Chelsea from Roman Abramovich in a UK government-mandated sale completed in May 2022.
