'Boo Boo' Andrade eyes comeback after family tragedy

Providence native Demetrius 'Boo Boo' Andrade (32-1, 19 KOs), a U.S. Olympian and former two-division world champion, will return to boxing on July 24 against Brazilian Douglas Ataide (20-5-1) at Mohegan Sun Arena after nearly three years away from the ring. His last fight was a loss to David Benavidez on November 25, 2023, which coincided with a difficult period as his mother became terminally ill and subsequently passed away. Now promoted by CES Boxing, Andrade aims to become a three-division world champion and has called out several high-profile opponents.
