Boxer dies 11 years after suffering catastrophic injuries in ring
Prichard Colon, a Puerto Rican boxer who was 16-0 before suffering catastrophic head injuries in a 2015 super welterweight bout against American Terrel Williams, has died after spending more than 11 years unable to talk, walk, or function independently. Colon had complained during the fight that Williams was repeatedly landing blows to the back of his head, which led to the severe brain damage. He had been living in Florida under the care of his family throughout his lengthy illness.
