Breeders' Cup-winning US sprinter ruled out of Royal Ascot
American sprinter Cy Fair, trained by George Weaver, has been ruled out of next week's Royal Ascot after failing to please in her work and not acting like her usual self in recent days. The three-year-old filly, who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Del Mar in October and the Grade 3 Mamzelle Stakes at Churchill Downs in April, had been a 16-1 chance for the King Charles III Stakes on the opening day of the royal meeting. Owners Medallion Racing confirmed she is 'completely sound' and expected to return to work within one to two weeks.
