Brian McDermott to lead England into Rugby League World Cup

Brian McDermott has been appointed as the new head coach of England's men's Rugby League team, set to lead them into this autumn's Rugby League World Cup. The 56-year-old replaces Shaun Wane, who stepped down in January, and brings extensive experience having won eight trophies at Leeds Rhinos between 2010 and 2018, including four Super League Grand Finals and two Challenge Cups. McDermott was working as an assistant coach at NRL club Gold Coast Titans prior to this appointment.
